Session 301: Solids Conveying
About the Instructors:
Don McGlinchey, PhD, Reader, School of Engineering and Computing, Centre for Industrial Bulk Solids Handling, Glasgow Caledonian University Don McGlinchey, PhD, is a lecturer with the Centre for Industrial Bulk Solids Handling in the school of Engineering, Science and Design at Glasgow Caledonian University where he is active in consultancy, research and lecturing in many areas of bulk solids handling, for example characterization, pneumatic conveying and vibration. He has been involved in solids handling for 12 years and has authored many technical papers and presented at numerous international meetings. He undertakes consulting and contract research for industrial companies on a worldwide basis. Andrew Cowell, Lecturer, School of Engineering and Computing, Centre for Industrial Bulk Solids Handling, Glasgow Caledonian University Andrew Cowell is a Lecturer in the School of Engineering and Computing at Glasgow Caledonian University, where he is active in consultancy, research and education in bulk solids handling within the Centre for Industrial Bulk Solids Handling. He also teaches on the undergraduate engineering courses within the School. He has previously worked in the materials handling equipment manufacture industry in Australia. He helped develop the materials for the Small Operations-Solids Conveying Equipment and Selection and Small Operations- Solids Storage Loading and Unloading courses after identifying the requirement amongst companies in Scotland. Andrew’s research interests are in the area of Characterisation of Bulk Materials and in the modelling of pneumatic conveying systems, particularly the forces in dense phase systems. He has authored technical papers and presented at a number of international conferences. |
