Session 102: Basics and Applications of Particle Characterization

About the Instructors:

Remi Trottier, Technical Specialist, Analytical Sciences,The Dow Chemical Company

Remi Trottier, PhD is a particle technology specialist in the analytical sciences laboratory at The Dow Chemical Company. He has 15 years of experience in the field of particle technology. He joined Dow in March of 2000 and is currently involved with developing and implementing several particle characterization technologies.
Prior to joining Dow, Dr. Trottier was a senior scientist in the physical measurement group within the analytical chemistry division at the Alcoa Technical Center. He supervised the particle characterization laboratory where he developed several particles sizing methods.
Dr. Trottier received his B.Sc. (1983) and M.Sc. (1987) degrees in applied physics from Laurentian University in Canada, and his doctorate (1996) in chemical engineering from Loughborough University of Technology in the UK.
