Session 101: Pneumatic Conveying- Principles and Practice
Pneumatic Conveying –Principles And Practice This one day workshop provides the ideal introduction to pneumatic conveying. The use of pneumatic conveying systems for the transport of bulk solids continues to grow due to their many advantages over other conveying technologies. Continuous research and development in the field of pneumatic conveying has increased the understanding of the transport process and provides the opportunity to improve the reliability and performance of pneumatic conveying systems. In this workshop the main system types; positive pressure, vacuum, combined and high pressure, are reviewed. The operating principles and industrial practice of individual system components are discussed and the importance of system / product interaction is illustrated with many examples. Case study material is used to discuss the often misunderstood strategies for optimising and up-rating system performance and methods of solving various operating problems.
