American Kuhne

Stand 328

American Kuhne now offers a double hinged powered roller feeder for silicone extrusion in addition to their single hinged feed roller for strip-fed rubber.
American Kuhne has developed a proprietary opening feed roller that, for the first time, enables fast and easy cleaning of the feed throat and/or removal of the feed roller. Additional benefits include a scraper blade that can be easily and precisely adjusted for optimal contact with the feed roll, and the feed roll itself can be internally cooled via a rotary union assembly to improve feeding and processing of difficult strip-fed materials.
The new ULTRA R/S Silicone machines range from .75” to 2.5” with a 12:1 L/D and can be completely customized to the customer’s specifications. ULTRA R/S extruders also come standard with a three year warranty and complete set of mechanical and electrical spare parts included.

Stand 328

For applications that are very sensitive to contamination and/or resin changes, the ability to easily separate the screw and barrel from a machine and replace it with a clean “on-deck” module can be critical to both product purity and profitability.
The ability to change the extruder size by quickly switching to a different diameter and/or length screw and barrel, brings a previously unimaginable level of processing and production scheduling versatility.
3 different size ranges to choose from:
- Small modular extruders ranges from 0.5” to 1.0”
- Medium size design ranges from 1.0” to 1.75”
- The largest barrel modules include precision sub-bases and ranges from 1.75” to 3.5”

Novatec

Stand 328

The advantages of the NovaDrier ™ are now available in models designed especially for injection molders of micro and precision components for medical devices.

The NovaDrier system dries virtually any type of resin. Throughput capacities of 3 to 68 kg per hour are standard sizes, but in response to requests for even smaller throughputs, NOVATEC now offers processors these options:

● Custom ‘mini’ models with throughputs from 0.23 to 2.27 kg per hour.
● Electro-polished, all-stainless steel standard model: the NovaDrier ND-7-SS, for throughputs up to 3.2 kg per hour.
● Standard models as portable convey/dry systems capable of drying exotic resins in multiple custom hoppers with capacities as low as 0.23 kg of material.

The NovaDrier uniquely bypasses traditional moisture-removal techniques, such as the use of desiccants, in favor of flowing compressed air through an adsorption membrane. The moisture-removing efficiency of the proprietary membrane is so great that process air at –40 °C dew point is flowing through the drier in less than four minutes after startup.
