Design for Sustainability: Thinking Outside the Green Box
Abstract: Mineral reserves are shrinking. Oil prices are spiking. Commodity demand from China and India is soaring. Supply chain risks in countries with water and food shortages are increasing. Plus, from toxic waste in solar production to net greenhouse gas emissions in bio-fuel production, a new set of unintended consequences is emerging. And climate change presents a set of risks that no company has ever faced. Given this volatile and dynamic business landscape, forward-thinking companies are looking beyond today’s “rush to green”. To improve their performance, they are implementing sustainability strategies, systems thinking and commercially available biomimicry solutions that reduce costs, liability and regulatory pressure. In this presentation, attendees will learn about these innovative approaches. They will hear about actual case studies. And they will gain a strategic compass for continued business success.
This presentation will discuss:
- Today’s business landscape is volatile due to spiking prices, declining resources, climate change and other reasons
- Forward-thinking companies are going beyond “green” and implementing sustainability strategies
- Breakthrough biomimicry solutions provide innovative technologies that reduce cost, liability and regulatory pressure
