LifeGuard IQ is a microcontroller-based, multi-functional fluid sensor, configurable to meet various user requirements. This sensor builds on the strengths of Moog's existing air bubble detector design, namely the use of swept frequency in the transmit signal generation, and adds intelligence to this already robust sensor. LifeGuard IQ can detect much smaller bubble sizes (≥0.5 µL) than conventional sensors, count bubbles, and determine the accumulated volume of air that has passed through the sensor. The LifeGuard IQ microcontroller has up to three channels, allowing multiple sensor types or an array of similar sensors to be incorporated within a single housing.

Providing up to 22 lpm of flow through a 0.060in orifice, this 2/3-way normally closed, normally open or 3-way distributor valve operates at up to 30psi with a fast response time of 5 msec full cycle. Reliability is rated for 20 million cycles without performance degradation. The TenX® Le incorporates efficient pulse width modulation (PWM) circuit technology, which consumes an insignificant amount of power and generates minimal heat, making it an ideal fit for portable medical and analytical devices.
