American Kuhne's new ULTRA R/S Silicone extruder features a unique proprietary double hinged roller feeder. The first hinge in this double hinged feed assembly enables access to the feed roll for fast cleaning of the roll surface and feed opening - and easy adjustabitlity of the scraper blade. The second hinge allows simple feed roll removal for change-out or cleaning of bearings. Our latest version of our Medical Modular extruder for plastics will also be on display. Schreiner MediPharm, a specialist in functional labels with additional benefits for the pharmaceutical industry, has developed Needle Trap as an active system for preventing needlestick injuries. Gerresheimer Wilden GmbH was given the task of developing the actual needle-protection element. A special challenge in the development of this plastic part was the design of the rest device. The needle must easily engage in the small prongs of this element, yet be securely retained within it. Simple modifications of the labeling equipment allows the new needle-protection system to be applied like a normal label.

Halkey-Roberts needlefree bag access valves and break-off valves are designed to attach directly to the solution bag during their production. These swabable valves can be used as needlefree injection sites or to access the bag with a mating luer connector, eliminating the need for spike ports and needles.
All raw materials are USP Class VI, latex-free and DEHP-free. Bodies are available in polycarbonate and stems are produced from silicone. The bag access valve is designed to fit 6.8mm (.268")I.D. tube ports. The break-off valves are designed to fit two tubing sizes: 6.0mm (.236”) and 6.6mm (.260”) I.D.

Under the agreement, RTP Company will compound and market precolored Radel® R polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) and Udel® Polysulfone (PSU) resins globally using the Solvay trademarks. The agreement means that customers worldwide who want small and medium sized lots of precolored Radel R PPSU and Udel PSU compounds will be able to get them very quickly from RTP Company, initially in North America and Europe, and in Asia by June of this year.
