Ceramaret SA
Booth 1905
Ceramaret will show a complete line of Ceramic insulators for Endoscopes and Electro-surgery devices. Insulators are made out of YTZP (Zirconia) and/or ATZ (Alumina Toughened zirconia) and/or ZTA (Zirconia Toughened Alumina) and are available in white, grey and black color. All manufacturing processes are in full conformance with the ISO 13485:2003 certification that Ceramaret obtained at the end of 2007. The company is also ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 certified. Many other new custom-made ceramic parts will also be displayed, in particular Zirconia Dental Abutments. Ceramaret offers 100 years of experience in the manufacture of parts in hard materials.
Hargraves Technology Corp.
Booth 1577
Hargraves introduces a new high efficiency, brushless motor that incorporates a slotless stator for its miniature diaphragm pumps. Instead, the windings are attached to the inside surface of the stator with adhesive. With no teeth to attract the magnets, cogging is eliminated, and the motor produces smooth, quiet rotation. The absence of teeth also provides room for larger magnets in the rotor and more wire in the windings, which means that slotless motors can generate more torque without a corresponding increase in size. Compared to slotted brushless motors, miniature diaphragm pressure and vacuum pumps can expect to see improved efficiencies up to 70% coupled with the exceptional life that the brushless design produces.
Haydon Switch & Instrument
Booth 1677
Haydon announces that its size 14 hybrid linear actuators are now available with an integrated connector. Offered alone or with a harness assembly, this connector is RoHS compliant and features a positive latch in order for high connection integrity. The connector is rated up to 3 amps and the mating connector will handle a range of wire gauges from 22 to 28. These motors are ideal for those that want to plug in directly to pre existing harnesses. Available in three designs, these linear actuators are available in a wide variety of resolutions ranging from 0.00012" (.003048 mm) per step to 0.00192" (.048768 mm) per step and deliver thrusts of up to 50 lbs.
Johnson Medtech
Booth 1778
Johnson Medtech, the medical products group of Johnson Electric, will be exhibiting at booth 1778. The group, which offers end-to-end capabilities for design, prototyping and manufacturing, will display stepper motors and actuators for peristaltic pumps and valves on drug delivery systems, solenoids for access doors and position locks, auto-focus axis powered by piezo-electric motors for high precision non-magnetic imaging devices and 4mm to 12mm geared motors for small infusion pumps. Also on display will be flexible printed circuits using polymer thick film technology for sensors and smart skin patches with sophisticated onboard electronics for wearable devices.
maxon precision motors inc.
Booth 2072
The maxon Freedom Series is a user-friendly, motion control development tool designed to eliminate the confusion often associated with motion systems integration. This all-inclusive package comes with your choice of four different brushless motor options ranging in size from 16mm to 40mm in diameter and up to 1/6 HP. A plug ’n play package includes appropriate cables, connectors and easy-to-follow practical exercises.
Minivalve International B.V.
Booth 1257
New Medical Valves Facilitate Assembly
Catering to customer demand for functional variety and ease of assembly, Minivalve introduces two new product lines. The Belleville ValveTM and the "sleeved" Duckbill Valve. Inspired by the Belleville spring design, the company's new rubber valve has a steeper opening profile than traditional umbrella valves and is easy to assemble. Ease of assembly is also a key characteristic of Minivalve's new Sleeved Duckbill Valve. These Sleeved Duckbill Valves allow for a simple friction fit, reducing the number of components and speeding assembly. Sleeved duckbill valves come in 5 standard sizes and are like the new Belleville valve line available in a broad range of elastomers, including Silicone, EPDM but also in FFKM.
Philips Applied Technologies
Booth 925
Remote ultrasound control speeds up minimally invasive heart surgery and improves the health and wellbeing of ultrasound operators
The use of ultrasound in surgical procedures such as heart catheterization requires time consuming and repetitive actions. With the Teleoperated Ultrasound Probe Philips Applied Technologies provides a solution that improves the work conditions of sonographers. The remote ultrasound probe, with haptic feedback, allows sonographers to manipulate the probe from a location some distance from the patient. Simultaneous use of ultrasound and X-ray imaging are possible. Dynamic forces between the probe and the patient’s body in the system’s control joystick are accurately reproduced.
