Canon Communications LLC Personnel

The Medical Design Excellence Awards program is directed by an interdepartmental team of Canon staff. Assignment of responsibilities for various parts of the program changes throughout the year, but generally follows the descriptions provided below. Michael BartolomeiMichael Bartolomei—Bartolomei is a marketing manager in Canon Communications’ publications division. He is responsible for all phases of marketing for the North American and Global Medical groups which include titles such as MD&DI, Medical Product Manufacturing News, MX, European Medical Device Manufacturer, China Medical Device Manufacturer, Medical Device Technology, and the industry’s leading Web site, Medical Device Link, plus more. Sherrie ConroySherrie ConroyConroy is editor-in-chief of Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry magazine (MD&DI). She has been at Canon for more than 14 years, working our of Canon’s headquarters in Los Angeles. She continues to serve as editor of MD&DI’s sister publications Medical Electronics Manufacturing and Medtech Precision as well as the MX media portfolio. Conroy holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of Oregon. For the MDEA program, Conroy recruits and selects the jury panel and manages the judging process. She also coordinates MDEA coverage in MD&DI, which is the publication sponsor of the awards, and assists in coordinating the MDEA ceremony held at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. Stephen CorrickStephen Corrick—Corrick is Vice-President of Canon's Global Medical Device Brands. Over more than 20 years, Corrick has had experience in all the event, print and digital business-to-business channels in North America, Europe and Asia. Joey CruzJoey Cruz—Cruz has worked in the trade show industry for nearly 22 years and joined the trade show division of Canon Communications in 2005 as senior operations coordinator. Cruz holds a certification in exposition management from the International Association for Exposition Management. Dan Cutrone

Dan Cutrone—Cutrone has been with Canon Communications since 1993. He started as marketing manager in its trade show division, where he was instrumental in creating many of the strategies and action plans that remain the core of the company’s successful attendance promotions. For two years, Cutrone served as the trade show customer and media relations manager, where he was responsible for public relations and was actively involved in exhibitor communications. He is now the director of marketing for Canon’s expanded and rapidly growing events division. Cutrone can be reached via e-mail at dan.cutrone@cancom.com.

Donna LawrenceDonna Lawrence—Lawrence joined Canon Communications in 2007 as senior marketing assistant in the trade show division. For the MDEA program, she assists in the creation of promotional materials and news releases, including the announcement of award-winning entries. She holds a BA degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an MSc degree from the University of Alberta, Canada. Lawrence LloydLawrence LloydLloyd is associate editor of Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry and managing editor of Medical Electronics Manufacturing, both published by Canon Communications. He assists in coordinating editorial coverage of the MDEA program in MD&DI. He received an MA in journalism from the University of Southern California and a BA in communication from California State University, Los Angeles. Katie PiggottKatie Pigott—Pigott joined Canon Communications in 2007 as operations coordinator in the trade show division. For the MDEA program, Pigott helps coordinate the hotel and travel logistics for the MDEA judging as well as other operational duties involved with MDEA events. Heather ThompsonHeather ThompsonThompson is managing editor for MD&DI, and supplement publications. She joined the publication in 2004. Before that, she was communications coordinator for Nutraceutical Corp. and for the Natural Products Association. Thompson holds a BA in English from University of California, Irvine. For the MDEA program, Thompson helps recruit and select the jury panel and manages the judging process. She also provides MDEA coverage in MD&DI, which is the publication sponsor of the awards, and assists in coordinating the MDEA ceremony held at the Javits Convention Center in New York City.
