The CDS series of EL 2001 Part Elevators have been designed to improve the pre-feed flow of individual component parts presented for assembly and installation on automated machinery. CDS elevators provide controlled flow, which is necessary for optimal machine performance. They are designed to handle a wide variety of part sizes and shapes.

CDS part elevators are designed for compliance to GAMP 4 industry standards and are ideally suited for feeding pharmaceutical, medical and other premium products requiring “clean” processes. ColorMax™-1000 Super Range, its newest color sensor with a 150-mm operating range and a 25-mm illuminated spot. The long range sensing capability allows the sensor to be mounted away from moving machinery parts, protecting it from potential mechanical damage. The large illuminated spot generates a large data sample that provides more information about the color the sensor is analyzing. More information provides higher accuracy and speed.

The long-range feature will initially be available in the full RGB analog and the HEX 15 color models. Primary applications for the ColorMax-1000 Super Range sensor include carpet, paper and plastic sheet manufacturing processes and converting.

CNTX contrast sensor, the highest resolution white LED contrast sensor on the market. The new sensor boasts the industry’s highest resolution, and it is the only contrast sensor able to reliably detect up to 50 gray scale levels.

Unlike many other sensors, the CNTX has a two-digit display that shows the values of a background and a mark to indicate available switching margin.

Also unlike other contrast sensors, the CNTX has the ability to lock the controls so the operator cannot change the settings and cause errors. The output is automatically configured to PNP or NPN upon power-up, aiding in setup. The light source intensity is variable so it can be adapted to the background.

CMYX color mark sensor, one of the fastest color mark sensor on the market by at least 35 percent. The new sensor boasts the industry’s highest resolution, and it is the only color mark sensor able to reliably detect color marks smaller than 2mm.

Color mark sensors detect registration marks and other features used in a wide variety of printing and packaging applications. The CMYX’s operating speed of 25 microseconds enables it to detect 0.5 mm PHARMA-CODE packaging control marks at speeds of 2000 ft/min. and standard size color marks at speeds exceeding 10,000 ft/min. allowing for increased production speeds. In addition, special high-contrast sensitivity enables reliable detection of faint marks — even 10 percent yellow on a glossy white background.

The HawkEye 1600T camera in high degree of protection IP67 and with M12 connections allows up to 3,600 analyses per minute. Different lighting components can be connected direct to the camera and triggered to provide sufficient lighting for the inspection objects on-site. The camera has multiple interfaces such as Ethernet and RS232, and eight digital, freely configurable I/Os. There are versions of the camera with XGA and VGA resolution, each with and without the Intellifind function. The camera is configured using a PC and the new Visionscape software version 3.7 and it also supports the Visionscape tools such as Intellifind, OCR and OCV.

UEI's DNA-FPPC8 Cube is a compact, rugged, 100Base-FX based DAQ interface. Its flexibility allows one to configure one or more cubes to match the specific I/O requirements of user’s application. The PowerDNA Cube is ideally suited for a wide variety of industrial, aerospace and laboratory data acquisition and control applications. The Fiberoptic network interface allows the cube to be located up to 2 kilometers from the host computer. A single mode fiber interface is available as a special order allowing ranges up to 20 kilometers. MTI Instruments Inc. now offers a complete family of Microtrak II laser heads capable of operating independently without a signal processing controller. These “stand-alone” sensors provide the performance you expect from MTII at a fraction of the cost, making them ideal for high-volume OEM, production and quality control applications. Parameters such as measurement units, frequency response and cut times are easily configurable through the RS-485 connection and MTII’s proprietary remote control software program.

The NI Smart Cameras are the first in a family of Smart Cameras that feature image processing directly on the camera sensor to create an all-in-one embedded device ideal for automated inspection applications. NI Smart Cameras are ideally suited for industrial vision applications including packaging inspection, assembly verification, 1D and 2D code reading, and motion guidance. NI Smart Cameras reduce cost and time of inspection by processing images on the camera with a PowerPC processor capable of running NI Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (AI) software, included with the NI Smart Cameras, or the NI LabVIEW Real-Time module and the entire suite of NI vision algorithms. NEUGART introduces the “DMA” (Direct Motor Attachment) option for the PLE series planetary servo gearheads.
The gearbox ring-gear-housing is directly mounted to the motor face, eliminating the input housing. The motor pinion (sun-gear) is attached to the customized motor shaft. Permabond introduced TA437, a single-component, solvent-free structural acrylic adhesive that forms strong bonds to ferrites, metals and ceramics. These durable bonds resist high temperatures, shear and peel stresses, and most common chemicals. TA437 is a high viscosity adhesive that cures in 3 minutes at room temperature. Cure speed can be accelerated to 30 seconds with Initiator 41.
Permabond's line of structural adhesives includes epoxies, toughened acrylics and a selection of UV-curable adhesives that provide structural strength bonds for glass to metal. Precision welded bellows assemblies are available using customer furnished end-pieces or as complete units. This capability minimizes the risk of damaging the thin, electrodeposited nickel bellows used for novel assemblies such as fluid dampers.

Assemblies with diameters as small as 0.187” (4.75 mm) and bellows with walls of 0.001” (.0254 mm) can be welded to a leak tightness of less than 1 x 10-9 cc/sec. Pressures of 5000 PSI or higher can also be accommodated by utilizing 3-ply bellows, or assemblies with extremely low spring rates (less than 2 lbs. / inch) can be welded using variable wall thickness techniques.
