A new welding process from Telsonic Ultrasonics combines elements of Vibration and Ultrasonic Welding. “Soniqtwist” is described as a Torsional Ultrasonic welding process that does not require an external heat source. The sonotrode (horn) provides a twisting vibration at 20 kHz, with amplitude of approximately 40 microns. The high frequency enables a very high energy input (Up to 12kw) and cycle times < 1 second. For sensitive electronic and medical applications, this method is said to be “gentler”. “Soniqtwist” offers far-zone welds in the centimeter range and no “membrane effect” with films and thin components.

The DRUMBOX® was designed for the wire harness industry to eliminate wire memory problems that can be a result of tight winding on a spool or reel.
