Manufacturing High Quality Urinary Catheters
Forty-four percent of hospital patients with indwelling catheters can develop significant bacteriuria within 72 hours of catheterisation. It is, therefore, critical that catheters are manufactured with perfectly smooth surfaces and apertures to reduce the potential for infection. An ultrasonic cutting technology is described here that produces smooth apertures and eliminates problems associated with debris. |

Head of Drug Delivery
Product development company, Cambridge Consultants has appointed David Blakey to head up its Drug Delivery division. Blakey joins the company at a time of significant growth and transformation in the industry. Prior to this appointment, he spent 13 years at TTP and earned a PhD for research into neutron diffraction. |

Donaldson Announces New Application Engineer
Donaldson Advanced Filtration (Leuven, Belgium), a provider of air and liquid filtrations systems, has announced the appointment of Karolien Vanhoundt as Application Engineer to support the European sales team for integrated venting solutions and technical products. Karolien graduated from Groep T as an industrial engineer in 2007 and has been working at Tyco Electronics. |
