EMDM Cover Products

Extrusion and moulding services

Specializing in the extrusion and moulding of medical-related products, a company also provides complete OEM services, from compounding and manufacture to packaging and sterilization. Guidance in obtaining CE marking for finished products is also available. Quality systems are certified to ISO 9001 and EN 46001, and manufacturing is performed in accordance with US FDA GMPs. A Class 100,000 cleanroom is on-site. Company engineers can provide assistance in product development and fabrication processes. Rehau Ltd., Walford, Herefordshire, UK.

Welding equipment

Welding equipment for use in low-output applications that require precise control and repeatability is designed to join small components in pacemakers, defibrillators, hearing aids, and other implantable products. The DC1001P incorporates an analogue feedback loop and transistor output control to ensure almost instantaneous response to load variables. It can identify process variables related to parts, cleanliness, position, and other physical or electrical characteristics. Data can be logged and printed via an optional RS-232 interface. MacGregor Welding Systems, Mildenhall, Suffolk, UK.

Polyamide

A polyamide has been engineered to combine chemical resistance and transparency. Trogamid CX7323 is composed of aliphatic monomers, which form small crystallites that do not disperse visible light. Consequently, parts made from this material retain a glasslike clarity even after long-term exposure to UV rays. Other benefits of the microscopic crystalline structures include stress resistance, minimal shrinkage, an absence of distortion, and durability under extreme temperatures. The material is suited for the injection moulding and extrusion of a variety of medical devices. Degussa-Hüls, Creanova Engineering Plastics, Marl, Germany.
