Design Movement

Immersive Design Inc. (Acton, MA, USA), a supplier of 3-D animation and visualization software, has announced that a demonstration version of its flagship software is available for downloading from http://www.immdesign.com. Interactive*PreAssembly (IPA) translates 3-D CAD database information into an animated image that can be viewed from any desktop. Visitors to the site can download the software and, by following the intuitive instructions, experience IPA's capabilities and applications, according to Greg Smith, president and CEO of Immersive Design Inc.

IPA allows users to see and work with a product design by adding motion and enhanced visual characteristics. With version 3.0, they can output those animations in the industry standard Virtual Reality Markup Language 2.0, allowing anyone with a simple Web browser plug-in to view and interact with the animations. The software has applications in product engineering and design as well as marketing, manufacturing, and sales.
