Australia Hosts Global Device Conference

Sydney will host the seventh Global Medical Device Conference at the Sydney Convention Centre, 15­17 February. Sponsored by the Medical Industry Association of Australia, the programme will address various issues including mutual recognition agreements and global harmonization, challenges for the Global Harmonization Task Force, risk management, environmental concerns, reuse of single-use devices, business and market issues, and market and regulatory trends. London will host Regulation and Marketing for Self-Diagnostic and Home-Monitoring Products at the Marble Arch Marriott, 12­13 February. Altenpflege Features Home-Care, Nursing Products

Manufacturers from 10 countries are expected to display their products and services at Altenpflege, the annual International Trade Fair and Congress of Products and Services for Elderly Care, to be held at the Messegelände in Hannover, 10­12 February. Products that will be displayed include nursing equipment, furnishings and fittings, technical installations for residential units and buildings, and kitchen appliances and equipment. Topics such as disinfection, cleaning and waste management, educational training, and nutrition for the elderly will be discussed.

Germany Hosts Euromed

Euromed, the Trade Fair and Congress for Medicine and Nursing, will be held at the new fairgrounds in Leipzig, Germany, 4­7 March. The biennial show, which is open to both trade visitors and the public, will showcase medico-technical products, laboratory equipment, and various diagnostics and pharmaceuticals.
