Process control sensors

A sensor family for process control offers pH, dissolved oxygen and conductivity measurements. The ARC sensors’ built-in electronics convert the low amperage measurement signal and enable several unique sensor functions. Apart from the direct analogue connectivity, the sensors offer a digital connection that delivers high data integrity. Capable of being precalibrated in the lab, the sensors are available with standard analogue and digital ModBus interfaces.

Pressure sensors

A manufacturer has expanded its silicon pressure sensor portfolio with ultralow pressure ranges that include 0–10 in. of H2O gage, ±5 in. H2O differential and ±10 in. H2O differential. These sensors include signal conditioning capability integrated within the product, which allows customers to reduce or eliminate the use of external signal-conditioning components from their PC board. The ASIC-based design provides a fast and accurate pressure reading.

USB sensor

A company has added a miniature pressure sensor to its USB sensor line. The PMP943 sensor’s USB output eliminates the need for an analogue amplifier, a power supply and display equipment. The sensor’s plug-and-play capability enables users to monitor its output, which is minimally affected by noise and temperature variation. Thanks to its titanium construction, the sensor is suited for use in corrosive fluid environments. The manufacturer also can develop custom sensors.

Fluid sensors

A firm specialising in optoelectronics has augmented its family of fluid sensors with a model designed to provide engineers with a simple means of detecting fluid in transparent tubing. The OCB350 series fluid sensors include automatic calibration circuitry and require only an optical device and power supply for operation. The sensors’ housing features an opening that has been designed to accommodate clear tubing with outer diameters measuring 1.6, 3.2 or 4.8 mm.

Pressure sensors

A line of rugged, lightweight pressure sensor devices feature a piezoresistive sensing element in a low-profile surface mount package. The easy-to-use P6050 and P6060 sensors use a 5-V input and provide a 0.5- to 4.5-V dc linear analogue amplified output proportional to pressure. Pressure transducer

A transducer is designed for use in low-pressure applications such as chemical sterilisers, autoclaves, pneumatic devices, pumps and compressors. The 3300 series pressure transducer features all stainless-steel wetted parts and welded construction, making the unit suited for use with harsh chemicals. A solid-state photon counting detector uses a Geiger-mode avalanche photodiode structure for ultralow-level light detection. The S11064 series detectors can be connected to an external circuit for simple operation.
