By joining forces, tubing maker Extrumed and silicone supplier Vesta aim to meet customer demands faster and more effectively than their competitors.

Precision medical tubing supplier Extrumed (Placentia, CA, USA) has merged with Vesta Inc. (Franklin, WI, USA), a supplier of silicone components and engineering services. The merger creates a significant contract manufacturer of precision thermoplastic and silicone tubing, silicone moulding and device assembly operations, according to a press release issued by the firms.
Together, the companies produce an estimated 60 million medical device components annually for the global med-tech market. The two companies do not intend to combine manufacturing facilities, but instead will focus on sharing best practices to strengthen the individual organisations.
The ExtruMed and Vesta management teams believe this merger will provide customers and the marketplace with a number of benefits including a lean infrastructure able to respond nimbly and effectively to evolving customer needs and an expanded range of material options.
