Contract Manufacturer of MIS Devices Debuts at MEDTEC France

Minimally invasive device manufacturer Transluminal offers a variety of services including design consultation, prototyping and final production on a contract basis.
Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) devices are developed, designed and manufactured by a company that had its coming out party at MEDTEC France, held 22–23 April in Besançon. Transluminal (Pompey, France) has close ties to medical-grade tubing supplier MS Techniques, also based in Pompey. It was founded, in fact, to satisfy a recurring request from that company’s customers.

“Clients buying our tubing kept asking us if we could provide design and development assistance and, ultimately, assembly services for minimally invasive devices,” says MS Techniques CEO Etienne Malher. With the establishment of Transluminal, he can now reply: yes, we can.

Transluminal has acquired the resources to take a project from initial idea to feasibility studies and prototyping and ultimately to final production on a contract basis. Complex devices and thin-wall microtubing are among the core manufacturing capabilities. Application examples include devices for angioplasty and abdominal aorta aneurism therapy.
