Diode laser company Dilas Diodenlaser GmbH (Mainz, Germany) has formed an independent business unit that will focus on developing and manufacturing turnkey diode laser systems. Riding on the success of the firm’s fibre-coupled, turnkey diode laser systems, the new division will focus on advanced solutions for industrial customers in a range of applications. Laser welding medical parts is one area of interest. “The business unit was formed to emphasize our dedication and commitment to the industrial customer base, as well as to strengthen Dilas’s overall diode laser portfolio,” says Jörg Neukum, director of sales and marketing.
Dilas Industrial Laser Systems, as the division is called, recently introduced a power extension for the company’s COMPACT series lasers. Using a QBH high-power fibre, the COMPACT 500/400 delivers 500 W of cladding-free optical power. Based on a fibre-coupled module using Dilas’s conduction-cooled laser diode bars, the system comes with an industrial water-to-air chiller, power supply, and integrated control unit. The COMPACT 500/400 is suited for fibre laser pumping, materials processing, and medical applications.
Certified to ISO 9001, Dilas Industrial Laser Systems operates application laboratories at its headquarters in Mainz and at other locations worldwide. High-performance industrial laser systems including fibre-coupled, direct-beam, and line source models, are available from the company in a range of outputs and wavelengths. The air-cooled systems are compact and require no additional cooling units.
