A 20-A IEC inlet with electromagnetic-interference (EMI) filter is offered to meet the increasing power entry demands of medical, information technology, and industrial equipment while also satisfying economic and ecological requirements. The Series 5130 Eco from Schurter AG (Luzern, Switzerland; www.schurter.com) has been designed to provide the highest possible performance in a lightweight, compact package. It combines an IEC C20 inlet with a line filter and comes configured for screw-on or rivet mounting from front or rear panel or for snap-in mounting. Optimal filtering and shielding is ensured by the positive electrical contact of the metal flange to the chassis.
Units are available with current ratings of 16 A at 250 V ac or 20 A at 125/250 V ac, and the standard version is supplemented by inlets with medical filters having leakage currents below 5 µA and models that have X1 and Y1 capacitors for enhanced withstand voltage. Terminals accept 6.3 × 0.8-mm quick-connect tabs. The series is ENEC and cURus approved and complies with the standards in IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60950 for medical and office equipment, respectively.
