When completed, the expanded Gerresheimer Wilden facility in Pfreimd, Germany, will include an 8700-m² ISO Class 8 cleanroom.

The expansion is expected to be completed by 2010 and will include a new 1500-m² hall devoted to tooling maintenance and repair as well as an additional 2000 m² of ISO Class 8 (Class 100,000) cleanroom space. That will give the site an ISO Class 8 cleanroom totalling 8700 m², with a controlled area occupying a further 5400 m².
Covering the entire production chain from injection moulding and assembly to inspection and packaging, the company is noted for manufacturing medical devices such as inhalers, syringe system components, lancing devices, and laboratory disposables.
Gerresheimer Wilden’s largest medical technology facility is located in the Bavarian town of Pfreimd and was established in 1956. Today, it houses 80 injection moulding machines and 22 fully automated assembly lines that run 24 hours a day and seven days a week. The Pfreimd site is also an accredited overseas manufacturer for Japan and has a permit for bottling clinical test samples.
