A supplier of medical-grade pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) offers an expanded product platform to support OEM customization and conversion requirements. The PSAs available from MACtac Europe (Soignies, Belgium; www.mactac.com) come in three categories of adhesion, providing extreme durability, medium hold, or gentle hold as the application warrants. The designer is able to specify the precise adhesion strength, tack quickness, gentleness of skin peel, breathability, shear strength, and clean removability needed. The custom-matched adhesive can be coated on foams, films, and fabrics to suit specifications.
All adhesive systems supplied by the company are tested according to the ISO 10993 standards for cytotoxicity, skin irritation, and skin sensitization and delivered with a three- to five-day lead time. They are suitable for direct and indirect skin-contact applications and are stable after sterilization by exposure to either EtO or gamma radiation.
