Hannover Fair to Be Held

The Hannover Fair will return to the Hannover fairgrounds on 21–25 April. Last year, the show attracted approximately 240,000 visitors and more than 6400 exhibitors. Event planners expect a similar turnout for this year’s show, which will comprise 10 separate exhibitions covering industrial areas such as automation, subcontracting, and microtechnology. Following recent partnerships with Russia, India, and Turkey, this year, the partner country for the event will be Japan.

Geneva Hosts Nonwovens Exhibit

The Index 08 nonwovens exhibition will take place 15–18 April at the Geneva Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland. In addition to showcasing a range of nonwoven applications, the exhibition will focus on the fabric’s contribution to the medical and personal care products industries. The event will provide visitors with the opportunity to learn about new developments in nonwovens by attending product presentations, keynote speeches, and informal receptions. A number of awards for innovation in nonwovens will be distributed. Visitors are expected from more than 100 countries at the event, which is held in Europe every three years.

International Laser Technology Congress Convenes in Aachen

Laser users and manufacturers from diverse areas of industry will meet 7–9 May in Aachen, Germany for the International Laser Technology Congress. Featuring more than 400 participants, approximately 50 conference speakers and 30 sponsors, this event is a forum for production applications of laser technology. All lectures will be made available in German and English. Exhibits accompanying the congress offer an environment in which to exchange information about products and services.

European Rapid Manufacturing Event Announced

The next meeting of the European Rapid Manufacturing Platform will be held in Asturias, Spain on 15–16 April. Providing an outlook from a business perspective, a workshop on rapid manufacturing will take place on the first day of the event. On the event’s second day, a conference on rapid manufacturing will discuss business initiatives. The meeting also will examine recent rapid manufacturing developments.
