Eastman Chemical Co. (Kingsport, TN, USA) has announced the launch of its online medical technical centre, located at www.eastman.com/medical. The site is organized to give medical device OEMs, processors, and designers access to comprehensive product and processing information. By providing a variety of polymer information, including data on properties such as clarity, toughness, chemical resistance, and colour stability, users can select the appropriate polymer for a range of noninvasive medical device applications as well as for use in flexible and rigid packaging.
Lab Tests Online Launched in Europe
Lab Tests Online, a peer-reviewed, patient-centred, noncommercial information source on laboratory testing used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, has been launched at www.labtestsonline.info for various European markets. Now available in German, Italian, Hungarian, Polish, and Spanish, as well as in English for the US, UK, and Australian markets, the Web site was originally developed in the United States by the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (Washington, DC). The European Diagnostic Manufacturers Association is responsible for the general administration and management of the European versions of the site.
Munich International Trade Fairs Unveils Online Portal
Messe München International (Munich) has launched a Web site dedicated to laboratory technology and instrumental analysis. Developed with the assistance of chemie.de, a media firm providing information services and software technologies to European chemical, biotech, and pharmaceutical industries, the site is located at http://analytica-world.com. Visitors to that address can view regularly updated news, product innovations, technical articles, and information on seminars, training courses, and interactive market overviews. Available in German and English, the site also offers RSS feeds and an opt-in newsletter. Messe München International also provides a Web site devoted solely to the Analytica trade show, which can be found at www.analytica.de.
Schurter Redesigns Web Site to Facilitate Navigation
Electronic component manufacturer Schurter AG (Lucerne, Switzerland; www.schurter.ch) has redesigned its Web site to simplify navigation and shorten download times. Available in seven languages, the site offers visitors the choice of 27 country domains. Tree navigation is provided to assure users of easy access to information on the firm’s product range. Quick links provide access to the most important and frequently used pages. The site’s search function also has been simplified and the product search results are displayed with preview images and a detailed description. The sales and distribution partner search now has a free text-search function and further selection possibilities. The contact page with e-mail links facilitates communication with local sales or distribution partners, enabling information, samples, and prices to be requested directly from them.
