A manufacturer of microcontroller and analogue semiconductor products, Microchip Technology will provide Invisar with access to its internal medical design and technical resources.

Invisar Inc., an engineering and design specialist, has announced that it has been named a medical design partner by Microchip Technology Inc., a manufacturer of microcontroller and analogue semiconductor products based in Chandler, AZ, USA. The designation will be limited to a select number of Microchip’s authorized design partners with Invisar being named the first.

Microchip Technology will provide medical specialists with marketing opportunities and access to its internal medical design and technical resources. Microchip Technology’s products are used in a range medical technology applications. Applications include implantable devices such as neural stimulation units; portable devices for diagnostic imaging, oxygen therapy, and patient monitoring; as well as home-use devices for disease-management and rehabilitation. Microchip Technology describes the designation as the next step in a move to provide a growing number of technical services to medical device firms. According to Microchip Technology, companies must possess a high-level of technical expertise and knowledge of US FDA regulatory requirements to qualify for the designation.
