Finland-based Medifiq Healthcare Corp. (Vantaa) has entered into an agreement to acquire Medisize Medical (Hillegom, Netherlands). Both companies provide an array of contract services to medical device manufacturers.
“This acquisition is a strategic step for us,” says Medifiq chairman of the board Lauri Ratia. “We will have a much wider footprint and presence on global markets, and will benefit from the two companies’ complementary competencies. Medifiq’s focus on high quality, high precision, and fast development combined with Medisize Medical’s engineering and mass-production skills in devices, packaging, and airway management products will create added value for customers,” says Ratia.
Willem van den Bruinhorst, who is the current CEO of Medisize, has been appointed CEO of the new corporation.
