Vision-guided robotics firm Adept Technology (Livermore, CA, USA) has announced that it has purchased Cerebellum Automation S.A.S. (Chavanod, France) for US$1.2 million. Specializing in motion control products for medical and packaging applications, Cerebellum Automation offers a variety of products and services including a robotic and motion control application development suite and a feeding and small part–handling system for end-user customers.
Founded in 2004, the French company serves a growing base of customers in France and Western Europe. “Cerebellum complements our strong position in Germany and gives us a greatly expanded footprint in the French automation market,” says Robert Bucher, Adept Technology CEO. Adept plans to integrate Cerebellum’s 10 employees into its French office.
