Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance Web Site Launched

The Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance, a division of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association headquartered in Rosslyn, VA, USA, has launched a medical imaging and radiation therapy Web site at www.medicalimaging.org. Visitors to the site can access reports on a variety of topics related to medical imaging that have been published in medical and scientific literature. Other information on the site is concerned with the use of imaging in the detection and treatment of a range of medical conditions as well as the historical role of imaging technology in healthcare. The site also offers access to recent and archived press releases and news coverage from the group. In addition, the Web site provides guides explaining the role of imaging in stroke, breast cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease.


Motion Control Firm Upgrades Motor-Sizing Software

Motion control specialist Aerotech Ltd. (Aldermaston, Berks, UK) has added a range of features to its motor-sizing software including an updated user interface, improved sizing calculations, motion-profile plotting, and the ability to size multiple axes within the same project file. The program uses the Microsoft .NET Framework environment to provide a comprehensive motor- and application-sizing platform for the company’s range of iron-cored and slotless linear motors, brushless rotary servomotors, dc servomotors, and microstepping motors. Users can size motors individually or together with integral positioning stages in single or stacked multiaxis configurations. Sizing calculations also can be made using third-party motor specifications. The free program is available for download at www.aerotech.com under the Engineering Reference section of that Web site.


Display Mounting Site Debuts

Atdec (Bankstown, Australia), a company specializing in visual display mounting, has launched www.atdec.com. The Web site provides a link for products suited for a variety of markets, including healthcare. The company’s Spacedec range of single, double, and triple mounts has been designed specifically for medical applications of LCD monitors. The site features data on the firm’s display-mounting products and offers information on compliance with ergonomic specifications and environmental requirements such as RoHS and Australia’s Green Star program.
