Tyco Electronics Adds Cleanroom Moulding for Med-Tech Applications

The Greensboro plant of Tyco Electronics (NC, USA) has been equipped with a 5640-sq-ft Class 8 cleanroom. The add-on will allow the company to provide particulate-free moulding of surgical-suite disposables, invasive devices, surgical filter housings, critical-care components, and drug dose meters and delivery systems.

The cleanroom features closed-loop temperature and humidity controls to shorten cycle times and maintain precise tolerances. The safeguards also help prevent parts from being contaminated.

The cleanroom meets ISO 14644-1 Class 8 requirements and satisfies the Medical Devices Directives. Adjacent material-handling and lab areas maintain a contamination-free environment.
