Sensors Site Redesigned

A Web site maintained by a firm specializing in sensors and assembly presses has been redesigned to help engineers find application-specific information. The site, located at www.schmidttechnology.de, also offers access to brochures, data sheets, user manuals, and application reports for products from Schmidt Technology GmbH (St. Georgen, Germany). The site is available in English, German, and French.

Online CAD Files Ease Interconnect Design

Miniature connectors manufacturer Omnetics, (Minneapolis, MN, USA) has announced that downloadable 3-D CAD files for its interconnect components are available online. Device designers can use the files to develop custom interconnect products. Downloadable from the firm’s Web site at www.omnetics.com, the files can be imported directly into a variety of CAD programs such as ProE, Solidworks, and Inventor. Once imported, the models can be manipulated within the design and positioned to monitor size constraints.

Materials Science Specialist Launches Web Site

A firm specializing in materials science technology, medical device engineering services, and contract manufacturing has launched a Web site located at www.cardiotech-inc.com. Developed by CardioTech International Inc. (Wilmington, MA, USA), the site provides information on polymer technology, contract medical device development, and manufacturing services. The site is designed to enable engineers at medical companies to locate and review products and services suitable for medical device applications.

Laboratory Testing Site Available in German

Noncommercial information on laboratory testing is available in German at www.labtestsonline.de. The German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (DGKL; Karlsruhe, Germany) and the Diagnostic Industry Federation (VDGH; Frankfurt, Germany) developed the site as a result of an agreement between the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (Washington, DC, USA) and the European Diagnostic Manufacturers Association (EDMA, Brussels, Belgium). The site offers information on specific laboratory tests and the medical conditions for which they are performed. Polish, Italian, and Hungarian versions of the site are also planned. The content is developed in cooperation with national associations affiliated with EDMA.
