MD&M East Hosts Special Focus Pavilions
The MD&M East exposition and conference, which returns to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Centre in New York in June, features pavilions devoted to combination products, laser equipment and services, precision machining, quality systems, medical packaging, and medical electronics. This year’s conference programme includes sessions devoted to nanotechnology, lean six-sigma manufacturing, materials and coatings for combination products, and software validation. The trade show runs 12–14 June; the four-day conference starts on 11 June.

Conference Examines Nanopolymers
Rapra Technology has announced an international conference on nanopolymers to be held on 12–13 June in Berlin. The event will bring together international experts to present recent information and opportunities on material property changes made possible through nanopolymers. The inaugural conference will investigate the cost benefits of incorporating nanoscale ingredients into polymer-based products. In addition, examples of how to disperse nanoingredients to achieve specific properties will be discussed.

Hong Kong Medical Fair to Be Held
The second annual Hong Kong International Medical & Health Care Fair will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on 16–20 August. Nanotechnology Event Returns to St. Gallen
A nanotechnology trade fair will focus on the medical device, plastic, and textile industries. Scheduled for 11–13 September, the event will take place in St. Gallen, Switzerland. A conference on medical device applications of nanoscale-designed materials and surfaces is scheduled for 12 September. Examples include drug-eluting devices in cardiovascular applications such as stents and orthopaedic implants, polymeric nanoparticles as carrier systems for therapeutic application, and magnetic nanoparticles for medical imaging. The focus will be on recent developments and technologies that are close to industrial realization. The session will be in English with simultaneous translation into German.
