Jim Rooney

Coating specialist InteliCoat (Wrexham, Clwyd, UK) has appointed Jim Rooney business development manager for its medical division in the United States. Rooney has more than 30 years of experience in the chemical coating, thermoplastic film, and adhesives industries. He is described by the company as an “expert in medical films and their application.” Rooney will be supported by the company’s UK development team, led by commercial manager for medical films, Fraser Kinnaird.

The company’s medical products include thin films, foams, laminates, and adhesives. The firm supplies a range of advanced flexible components to specialist manufacturers in the wound-care, ostomy, and medical device sectors. With products incuding ultrathin polyurethane films, polyurethane and polyethylene foams, adhesives, complex laminates, and conductive substrates, the company produces a range of materials for medical and biosensor applications.

The firm’s most recent product-polyurethane film on a transparent matte backing-and its ongoing research projects are discussed in the Special Report on Wound-Care Technology in the January/February issue of EMDM.
