A consortium of medical device OEMs and their suppliers, Consobiomed was founded in 1990 to promote the implementation of medical device directive 93/42/EEC and the adoption of international quality standards in the Mirandola area. Since 1999, it has shifted its attention to marketing activities and providing support for foreign trade. In addition to providing services for its member companies, the consortium can also help medical device OEMs source regional suppliers.
Consobiomed represents more than two-dozen firms that cover a vast range of product and service categories. Member companies have expertise in the design, development, and production of medical disposable products, cleanroom assembly, packaging and sterilization services, moulding, extrusion, and testing equipment and services. Companies with experience manufacturing finished medical equipment can also be sourced in the region.
