MD&M East Returns

The world’s largest event for medical device design and manufacturing, Medical Design & Manufacturing East returns to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City on 6–8 June. Show organizer Canon Communications llc, which also publishes EMDM, is expecting the event to draw more than 1500 suppliers to the medical device manufacturing industry and tens of thousands of attendees. Exhibitors at the show supply products and services to every market segment, including cardiovascular, orthopaedics, emergency and trauma care, surgery, and ophthalmology. Special-focus pavilions include PrecisionTec, MEDPAK, Quality, Medical Electronics, CAD/CAM and Enterprise Technology Software, and, for the first time, MicroNanoTec. A conference programme at MD&M East will cover topics such as vascular devices, polymer selection, and intellectual property trends.

Regulatory Affairs Discussed in Portugal

In June, the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) will convene in Lisbon to discuss the regulatory response to innovation and global competitiveness. The conference brings together regulatory and industry experts to debate Europe’s preparedness in addressing the challenges of new technologies in the medical device sector. Held 1–2 June at the Sana Lisboa Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal, the event is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of regulatory developments.

Munich Hosts Automation Trade Show

Med-tech professionals can find the latest developments in the field of automation at the Automatica trade show held 16–19 May in Munich. Launched in 2004, the biannual event showcases developments in robotics, automated assembly, and handling equipment. A symposium on robotics and panel discussions on automation are also scheduled. Visitors to Automatica will have free access to the collocated Ceramitec event, which is devoted to ceramics and powder metallurgy.

Medical Polymers to Be Discussed in Cologne

A fifth international conference on medical polymers will be held 6–7 June at the Marriott Hotel in Cologne, Germany.
