Interface Associates Receives Investment Capital

Interface Associates (Laguna Niguel, CA, USA) has announced that Telegraph Hill Partners has invested US$12 million in the company for strategic initiatives and for use as expansion capital. Interface designs and manufactures equipment used to create, test, and evaluate balloons used in medical applications. As a result of the expansion, the company plans to become active in multiple healthcare markets.

GL Plastics Increases Cleanroom Moulding Capacity

A company that can produce plastic parts with 0.01-mm tolerances has expanded its production capability with new cleanroom space and four injection moulding
machines. Certified to ISO 9001:2000, GL Plastics (Eindhoven, Netherlands) designed its manufacturing space with the Class 100,000 cleanroom located adjacent to the injection moulding machines. The location of the machines enables the company’s 225-m2 of cleanroom space to be used for handling and assembly operations. Three of the modules have a 250-ton capacity, and the remaining machine offers a 320-ton capacity.

Amcor Invests in Additional Cleanroom Space

Amcor Flexibles (Barnwood, Glocs, UK), a company specializing in medical device packaging and components, has invested in a second cleanroom facility at its Tobepal Logroño site in Spain. The firm produces a range of primary packaging laminates for the pharmaceutical industry including thermoform and cold-form blister packaging, strip packs, sachets, and stick packs.

Rapid Prototype Centre Launched

Creganna Medical Devices (Galway, Ireland) has launched a centre dedicated to the rapid turnaround of prototypes. Dedicated to meeting the customers’ time-to-market requirements, the centre is staffed by a cross-functional team of engineers, quality professionals, technicians, and product builders. Open since 13 March, the centre specializes in prototypes for metal-based shafts, extruded tubing, and a range of subassemblies.
