Systems integration and project management firm Semcon Medical & Life Science and automation specialist FlexLink, both headquartered in Göteborg, Sweden, have joined forces to provide production logistics support to the medical device and pharmaceuticals industries. The formation of the new company, called Compliant Logistics AB and also based in Göteborg, was announced in February.
Citing increasing regulatory and statutory demands placed on industry and an emphasis on cost efficiency in production, the firm plans to leverage the complementary expertise of the two companies to meet these needs. FlexLink brings wide-ranging knowledge in software and equipment for production logistics, according to Compliant Logistics, while Semcon offers project management, automation, and quality assurance skills. The joint venture “promises customers a quick return on investment,” says FlexLink CEO Fredrik Jönsson.
