MEDTEC 2006 Highlights Advances in Machining and Automation

When MEDTEC 2006 returns to the fairgrounds in Stuttgart, Germany, from 7 to 9 March, a pair of new pavilions will beckon attendees.
The Automation and Assembly Pavilion will showcase lean manufacturing, cost reduction, productivity, six-sigma process control, and other tools designed to help med-tech manufacturers stay one step ahead of the competition. Exhibitors include pavilion sponsor ATS Automation, sortimat Technology, Kahle Automation, Müller & Kurtz, Ismeca, and AGR Automation.
CNC machining equipment manufacturers, EDM equipment suppliers, and contract manufacturers specializing in the fabrication of precision metal parts will be featured in the nearby PrecisionTec Pavilion. Exhibitors include pavilion sponsor Haas Automation, Tornos, Chiron-Werke, Willemin-Macodel, Stama, Euroflex Schüssler, Machine Solutions, and Accellent.
As always, MEDTEC will host hundreds of other exhibitors providing a full range of products and services geared to the needs of medical device OEMs. A concurrent conference programme will explore a number of timely issues. Topics this year include successfully bringing a medical device to the US market, novel technologies that are having an impact on the manufacture of medical devices, and the importance of performing toxicological risk assessments.
