Packaging Design Centre Launched for European Healthcare Market |
A design studio and product development group provides customers with resources to strengthen their brands with innovative packaging. |
A supplier of value-added paperboard packaging to a range of industries has launched a design studio and product development group dedicated to pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging. The centre is located in Nottingham, UK, at the Field Boxmore subsidiary of Chesapeake Corp., which is headquartered in Richmond, VA, USA.
Company personnel have evaluated paperboard and plastic substrate materials and printing processes for a host of packaging formats and combinations, the firm reports. CAD equipment supporting 3-D simulation and a Kongsberg sample-making table enable the group to produce prototypes for customer evaluation.
The centre aims to provide its healthcare customers with the resources they need to differentiate and strengthen their brands by using innovative packaging, says the firm. In the pharmaceutical field, in particular, the growth of over-the-counter medication is increasing the importance of branding and shelf presence. The company is also developing packaging that provides counterfeiting protection and incorporates Braille and child-safety features.
