Company Introduces Stock Shapes for Medical Devices

Stock shapes from Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products can be used in life science equipment.

A portfolio of stock shapes specifically designed for use in life science equipment has been introduced. The new products from Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products (QEPP; Tielt, Belgium) enable the company to provide traceability and biocompatibility testing results for its stock shapes as well as for the raw materials.

Life Science Grade (LSG) stock shapes comply with USP Class V and Class VI, and ISO 10993. “This will give end-users added confidence that LSG shapes will successfully pass testing in finished products when time and money are often scarce,” says business manager Ermanno Nizzoli. The stock shapes meet industry standards for stiffness and impact resistance. They also retain their physical properties after repeated sterilization and thermal and chemical treatment. Dimensional stability is maintained over wide temperature ranges and in wet and dry environments.

Applications include machined components for surgical and dental instruments, analytical and monitoring equipment, and diagnostic devices.
