Conference Focuses on Medical Plastics 

A conference and seminar on medical plastics will be held on 1–4 November in Gentofte, Denmark. The programme will feature expert speakers from throughout Europe. Complementing the conference programme, an exhibition will provide delegates with the opportunity for hands-on inspection of materials and product samples. Suppliers’ representatives and technical personnel will be present to answer questions.

Polymers Conference Held in Dublin

Rapra Technology has announced the programme for its international conference devoted to the use of polymers in the medical industry. The event will take place on 15–16 November in Dublin. Medical Polymers 2004 will bring together speakers and delegates from the entire medical device supply chain to address the challenges facing the industry. It will be of particular value for businesses involved with design and manufacturing, raw material supply, machine and equipment supply, processing, and moulding. Materials suppliers and university researchers will present papers on new material developments and on the legislation affecting the industry. Safety testing will also be discussed.

Nanotechnology Discussed in Berlin 

An international workshop on the biomedical applications of nanotechnology will be held on 14–15 October in Berlin. Topics will include nanocarriers and drug delivery, nanobioanalytics, biocomposites, diagnostic and therapeutic nanotools, and coatings.

Dortmund Hosts Techmo Fair

Techmo, a trade fair devoted to handling and assembly technology, will be held in Dortmund, Germany, on 9–12 November. Exhibitors include leading companies from assembly, joining, handling, and automation sectors. The fair will be colocated with the MTQ trade fair for materials testing, measuring technology, and quality assurance.
