Shows and ConferencesConference Discusses Pharmaceutical and Medical Packaging
A conference on pharmaceutical and medical packaging will take place on 11–12 May in Copenhagen, Denmark. The programme will feature 21 expert speakers from throughout Europe who will address a variety of issues including labelling, validation, packaging materials, traceability, marking, and blister packaging. The conference will be complemented by an exhibition that will provide delegates with the opportunity to inspect materials and product samples.

Dublin Hosts Medical Polymers Conference
The fourth international conference focusing on the use of polymers in the medical industry will be held in Dublin on 3–4 June. The two-day conference will bring together speakers and delegates from the entire medical device supply chain to discuss material advances, new technologies and processes, and the latest regulatory issues. Topics will include the use of polymers in surgical applications, adhesives and joining for medical applications, and environmental and toxicological issues.

MD&M East Held in New York City
Canon Communications llc, which also publishes EMDM, is again featuring a lineup of colocated design, manufacturing, plastics processing, and packaging shows on 15–17 June in New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The event comprises Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) East, EastPack, PLASTEC East, Atlantic Design & Manufacturing, and the Ingredients Expo.
MD&M East will feature suppliers offering an array of products, services, and equipment of particular relevance to medical device OEMs. An enhanced conference programme will cover topics such as packaging validation and compliance, design and sterilization of plastic medical devices, and lean manufacturing techniques.

Automation Show Debuts
An international trade show devoted to robotics and automation premieres in München, Germany, in June. Automatica will showcase hundreds of robotic products, assembly and handling equipment, machine vision instruments, and associated technologies at the new fairgrounds. The biannual event is scheduled for 15–18 June.

Switzerland Hosts Nanofair
Nanotechnology takes centre stage on 14–16 September at St. Gallen, Switzerland.
The Nanofair will present product innovations, as well as commercial nanotechnology and microtechnology applications. Speakers at the conference will discuss recent developments in basic research, training projects, ethical and environmental considerations, and questions related to venture capital.
