Malvern Instruments Acquires Image Analysis Technology |
Malvern Instruments Ltd. (Malvern, Worcs, UK) has acquired the technology and manufacturing rights for the PharmaVision 830, an automated image analysis–based particle characterization system. The acquisition complements the company’s expertise in light scattering. The system’s advantage over traditional particle-analysis methods is that it examines shape as well as size in dry powders. “The PharmaVision 830 will be especially valuable in relation to the US FDA process analytical technologies initiative,” says Paul Walker, managing director at Malvern Instruments.
