Olympus Distributes Laser-Based Cell-Screening SystemsOlympus Optical Co. (Europa) GmbH (Hamburg, Germany) has agreed to distribute laser-based imaging instruments from CompuCyte (Cambridge, MA, USA) in Europe. The products expand the Olympus portfolio to include high-content cell-screening systems. The agreement follows CompuCyte’s launch of the iCyte imaging cytometer used for high-content cell and tissue analysis in biomedical automated screening processes.
“We see an increasing need in medicine for cell-based assays,” says Kay-Peter Schmidt, of Olympus Europa. The assays generate data relevant to genetic testing and expression profiling.
