E-beam sterilization can save manufacturers of single-use medical devices both time and money when compared with EtO or gamma methods, according to a supplier of E-beam services. When working with mixed-density loads and varied shipment sizes, E-beam sterilization is also more flexible than alternative methods, according to E-Beam Services Inc. (Cranbury, NJ, USA). The company says that precision E-beam dosing leaves no residual radiation and no chemical or moisture residue on the product or packaging. Consequently, parametric testing and quarantining are not required. The firm offers single-day turnarounds on many products.
