With specialized capabilities in burr-free cutting of small-diameter tube, rod, and wire, a company supplies medical device components made to comply with close-tolerance requirements.
Metal Cutting Corp. (Cedar Grove, NJ, USA) offers services such as abrasive cutting; double-disk, centreless, and surface grinding; lapping; and barrel, vibratory, and centrifugal polishing. The types of metal worked include all stainless steels, platinum, tungsten, rhenium tungsten, nitinol, all titanium grades, and refractory and precious metals. "Our proprietary rotary abrasive cutting method provides a unique capacity to perform fast, high-volume precision production of parts cut from all metals," says Tom Ney of the company's sales department. Forming and machining capabilities include angle cutting, bending, pointing, and slotting.
Cleanroom handling, multistage ultrasonic cleaning, and camera-vision inspection guarantee the ultraclean parts required for use in medical device components, including catheters, stents, guidewires, spotting pins, markers, electrodes, and probes.
