Fine Tubes Ltd.
A company has a fully integrated facility for the R&D and manufacture of high-quality, cold-drawn, precision tubing in seamless, welded, and welded-and-drawn forms. Its products are used in medical applications such as coronary and peripheral stents; orthopaedic implants, including severe-fracture fixation nails, screws, and instruments; spine rods; and medical instruments and devices. Sizes range from 0.3 mm OD to approximately 38.1 mm OD.
Fine Tubes Ltd. (Plymouth, UK) also manufactures various materials, including austenitic, superaustenitic, and duplex stainless steels; nickel alloys; titanium; and nitinol.
"We are investing heavily in the research and development of new materials and production methods," says Brian Mercer, sales and marketing manager. New products in development include profiled fixation nails, in which product innovation diminishes manufacturing line downtime and cost, he adds.
