A contract manufacturer provides critical medical device components and mechanical subassemblies for use in orthopaedic, cardiac rhythm management, cardiovascular, and ophthalmic microsurgery. "Most of our products are handmade, and we can check each component one by one," says André Peyre, general manager of Société Études Développements (SED; Voutezac, France).
The company's core capabilities include wire forming, microcoiling, microwelding, grinding, small-series plastic injection, and the integration of microassemblies. It designs and produces most of the special machinery on which the delivered products are manufactured.
