PRODUCT UPDATE
Mikroland Innovations
A 40-year-old firm has a reputation for working with fine mechanical devices. Initially involved in the watch industry, then photography and aeronautics, Mikroland Innovations (Fillinges, France) is now focused on medical device manufacturing. The company's vast experience informs the production of high-quality endoscopic devices, surgical motors, and micromechanics.
The firm machines complex parts in small- and medium-batch production runs (50 to 500 pieces) on CNC or conventional machines. Metals machined include titanium, cobalt, steel, stainless steel, iron, bronze, brass, aluminium, and copper. Surface treatments such as sandblasting, shot-peening, and surface finishing are also offered.
Continuous service improvement is an important factor in today's competitive market, believes chairman Jean-Claude Ziegler. "Clients are asking for high quality and good service, which includes providing short lead times for product delivery and after-sale service," he says.
