Aguettant Italia Acquired by Haemotronic

A supplier of medical components, blood lines, and medical bags, Haemotronic S.p.A. (Mirandola, MO, Italy) has acquired the peritoneal dialysis business of French medical device OEM Laboratoire Aguettant. The company will retain the name Aguettant Italia S.r.l. for the near future, says Mattia Ravizza of Haemotronic's legal department. Aguettant's Dianectan platform offers dialysis patients a simple, clamp-free connector to perform drainage, flush, infusion, and stoppage procedures. Medical-Grade Copolyester Introduced

A clear copolyester that achieves twice the flow of comparable materials without sacrificing mechanical properties has been developed by Eastman Chemical Co. (Kingsport, TN, USA). The MN005 resin is suited for medical applications that involve the filling of small, intricate parts. The introduction of MN005 extends Eastman's portfolio of medical-grade resins, which are described by the firm as tough, very clear, and chemically resistant. The materials withstand gamma radiation.
