Anaesthesia flowmeter in pipeline for 2003A flowmeter that was developed for a customer's anaesthesia equipment will soon become available as a standard product. Felix l'Orange, director of corporate marketing at Sensirion AG, revealed at Electronica that the 160200-L/min flowmeter will be brought to market at the end of the first quarter in 2003.
Sensirion develops gas meters, flowmeters, and mass-flow controllers, among other products, for OEM use. "We have been developing custom products for several years," says l'Orange, "but we believe we have acquired enough know-how to develop standard products and to successfully market them."
The company's platform CMOSens technology enables computer chips to sense minute changes in gas flows, differential pressure, and humidity. The sensor element and CMOS chip form an integrated whole with the readout circuit and A/D converter, resulting in a system with a fully calibrated and temperature-compensated output.
